Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026
Summary: We collect only the data you choose to share. We never sell your data. You can export or delete everything at any time.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, Apple, or other providers, we receive your name and email from those services.
Contact Data
When you choose to import contacts, we collect the contact information you select, which may include:
- Names, phone numbers, and email addresses
- Birthdays and anniversaries
- Company names and job titles
- Relationship labels (e.g., "mother", "spouse")
You choose which contacts to import — we never automatically sync your entire address book.
Context You Share
Yenesow only uses data you explicitly provide within the app. This includes your responses to the Tune Up questionnaire (relationship closeness, contact frequency goals, relationship context) and your conversations with Yene, your AI assistant. We never access your messages, emails, SMS, or any external communications.
Usage Data & Analytics
We collect anonymized usage data such as feature usage patterns, app performance metrics, and crash reports to improve the service. We use Mixpanel and other third-party analytics providers to understand how our app is used to improve user experience. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time in the app's Settings menu.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively to provide and improve the Yenesow service:
- Relationship Health Scores: We use the context you share through Tune Up — relationship closeness, milestones, and your goals — to generate health scores for your relationships.
- Smart Nudges: We use relationship data and milestones to send you timely reminders about birthdays, important dates, and when it's time to reach out.
- AI Assistant: Yene, our AI assistant, uses your relationship context — and, if you connected Facebook, the interests imported from the Pages you like — to suggest conversation starters, events, and meetup ideas.
- Contact Organization: We auto-categorize contacts into Family, Friends, and Professional groups based on contact data.
3. Data Storage & Security
- All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption
- Data is transmitted over TLS 1.2+ encrypted connections
- OAuth tokens for connected services are encrypted with AWS KMS
- Infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States
- We follow industry-standard security practices including regular security audits
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
We may share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use AWS for hosting and infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.
- With Your Consent: We will share data with third parties only when you explicitly authorize it.
5. Your Rights & Controls
You have full control over your data:
- Access: View all data we have about you within the app
- Export: Request a full export of your data at any time from Settings
- Delete: Delete your account and all associated data permanently from Settings
- Revoke: Disconnect any integrated service at any time, and we will delete the associated data
- Modify: Edit or remove any contact data, categories, or attributes
Deleting your data
You can delete everything Yenesow holds about you at any time, with no request form or waiting period:
- In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. Your account, contacts, relationship data, and chat history are removed permanently.
- Connected social accounts: disconnecting Google, Facebook, X, or LinkedIn in Settings → Connected Accounts deletes that platform's tokens and the interests imported from it; contacts you chose to import stay in your address book until you remove them. Removing Yenesow from your Facebook settings has the same effect on our side (see Facebook data deletion below).
- Without the app: email privacy@yenesow.com from the address on your account and we delete everything within 30 days.
Facebook data deletion
If you connected Facebook, the Facebook data we hold is your public profile name, your Facebook account identifier, and the Pages you like that we imported as interests. The Facebook access token is used once, during connection, to read your name and likes, and is then discarded — we do not keep it. There are three ways to delete it:
- In the app: Settings → Connected Accounts → Disconnect next to Facebook. Your Facebook identifier and name, and every interest imported from Facebook, are deleted immediately.
- From Facebook: remove Yenesow under Facebook → Settings and privacy → Settings → Apps and websites. Facebook notifies us automatically and we delete the same data at once. If you also send a data deletion request from that screen, Facebook shows you a confirmation code; you can check its status at any time at https://api.yenesow.com/integrations/facebook/deletion-status?code=YOUR_CODE (replace YOUR_CODE with the code Facebook shows you).
- By email: write to privacy@yenesow.com from the address on your account and we delete it within 30 days.
After a deletion request we keep only the confirmation code, the time of the request, and a one-way hash of your Facebook account identifier so the status page can answer you — the identifier itself is not kept and cannot be recovered from the hash.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:
- All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained
- Backup copies are purged within 90 days
7. Children's Privacy
Yenesow is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
8. Third-Party Integrations
When you sign in with or connect third-party services (Apple, Google, Facebook, X, LinkedIn), those services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We only access the specific data scopes you authorize. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name and email. When you connect Facebook we read only your public profile (name and account identifier) and the Pages you like — we do not request or receive your email — and we use the Pages you like only to build the interest list shown in Settings → Connected Accounts, to rank event suggestions in the app, and to give Yene, our AI assistant, context for its suggestions (Yene runs on Amazon Bedrock inside our AWS infrastructure; see Section 4). You can revoke access at any time. We never read messages, posts, or direct messages on any platform.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
